It's probably not THE weirdest, but the first half marathon I ran, they were frying up bacon for the several of the aid stations on course... my stomach isn't tough enough to manage that while running yet.
Considering I run for bacon…. (And to make sure Greg doesn’t kick my butt for not complete it a workout) - I’d def have the bacon. You never know until you try!
Also not weird -- actually it was really fun. The first HM I ran (Rock n Roll San Jose), they had live bands playing every mile, and cheer squads from local high schools cheering and forming tunnels for runners to go through. It was pretty cool. Still my fastest HM time ever.
That’s awesome! There’s something similar here in our “Parks Half Marathon”; there is a hill called “The Silencer”… it’s lined with tons of people cheering you on…hard to not run fast but it’s so steep you can’t even says “thank you!” At the top!
During this same race we’ve had a grand piano and someone playing it around 8 or so I think.
